About The Conference

Sustainability Middle East (SME) is to launch a new industry-leading conference on sustainability entitled ‘Leaders in Sustainability’.

SME Conference Agenda

The Sustainability Middle East Conference is a one-day event that will foster an arena where
we can provide a platform for thought-leadership, discuss the latest developments in
sustainability, and create a platform for key figures in the sector to network, collaborate,
and lead the industry conversation.

Below is an outline of what the event will entail.

This first session will offer an overview of the latest developments in sustainability with particular regard to the Middle East, although we will pay attention to relevant global developments. The main purpose of this session is to provide attendees with the framework to understand the more specialised information coming along in later sessions. In essence, this is a must-attend session to ensure you are up to date with all the vital info.

Key Themes Include
  • A review of the environmental health of the world, with specific focus on the Middle East
  • The biggest challenges in sustainability
  • Potential future solutions & noteworthy global developments
  • Political, economic, and social responses to climate change

Smart Questions
  • Where are we with climate change, is there a time limit we have before major issues start occurring?
  • How can we inspire lukewarm actors to take action on sustainable practices?
  • A concern for many is how implementing sustainable practices can impact bottom lines, how can we assuage that fear and what tools can we utilise to be sustainable and successful?
The second session of the event will see some of the most inspirational figures in sustainability from a variety of industries, including, but not limited to technology, digitalization, lifestyle, branding, transport & logistics, construction and infrastructure. In this session, we will ask key industry figures to explain how they made their businesses sustainable, successful, and socially conscious in order to inspire and motivate our attendees to make changes in their own operations.

  • How to be a sustainable leader
  • Optimal practices for business and sustainable growth
  • Technology and sustainability

This session has been specially created to offer an expansive insight into how a modern business can be totally sustainable. The session will provide attendees with a complete review of each key area of a business, with practical steps to take away and implement into operations with immediate effect.

  • A holistic review of a modern business and its sustainable practices
  • Key implementations in business logistics, staff welfare and production
  • Insights into the future of sustainable practices for businesses

A keynote speech from an industry elite on optimal sustainable practices
This session is a chance for us to explore the conscious and sustainable business practices from all manner of industries, including industries as diverse as agriculture and fashion. Second to that, it’s also an opportunity to explore practices affiliated with sustainability, such as social change, inclusion, and ESG developments.

  • How to run a ‘conscious’ business
  • How a sustainable philosophy can run alongside a policy of inclusion
  • How to promote a conscious ethos as a brand

With COP28 being held in Dubai in 2023, several major issues are being brought forth that will define the future conversation around sustainability, both in the Middle East and globally. This session will review these key themes to ensure you’re up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding the cutting-edge developments in sustainability.
